This club is for intermediate learners: you can describe experiences and express simple opinions—even with pauses and mistakes. It is not designed for complete beginners, and it is not a systematic grammar course.
Private lessons help you learn Mandarin. Group conversations help you use it with people. Here you practise what a tutor can’t easily simulate: following several voices, jumping in at the right moment, and responding to opinions you didn’t expect. Many members keep their private lessons and join us once a week for real interaction.
Three things: a confirmed small group that actually shows up, one designed topic so the conversation never dies after “Where are you from?”, and a native host who takes part instead of leaving everyone to improvise. Stable, organised, and serious—without feeling like a class.
Two to four learners plus one native Mandarin host. Small enough that everyone speaks, big enough that you hear different viewpoints. The same group stays together for the full 60 minutes—no random matching or reshuffling.
No constant interruptions. Your host shares genuine opinions and models natural expression, so you hear how a native speaker would really say something—while learners do most of the talking. Mistakes are expected and never stop the conversation.
A conversation is confirmed once at least two learners have booked. If it hasn’t reached that point 12 hours before the start time, the session is cancelled automatically and your credit is returned—you’ll never pay for a conversation that doesn’t happen. If you booked with your free first conversation, your free eligibility is restored.
Yes—that’s the point. Members join precisely because this is a Mandarin-only environment: no slipping back into English when expressing yourself gets hard. Your host keeps things understandable and helps you find the words, in Mandarin.

Your first conversation is free. After that: $7.99 for a single conversation, or $26.99 for a 4-conversation pass ($6.75 each), valid for 60 days. No subscription and no automatic renewal—ever.
All times on the site are shown in your local timezone, and new conversations are published four weeks in advance. If nothing fits, use the “Suggest a Time” link under the conversation list—new time slots are added as the community grows.
